Ironman 70.3 Comes to Dún Laoghaire

Ironman 70.3, which has been starting in Dún Laoghaire over the last few years has an entirely new route for 2018, that will see competitors start the race in Dún Laoghaire and finishing in Dún Laoghaire. Previous events finished in the Phoenix Park.
The event will start in the beautiful surroundings of Dublin Bay with a 1.9km swim in Sandycove and Scotsman’s bay followed by a scenic but grueling 90km cycle through the Wicklow Mountians National Park, before returning to Dún Laoghaire for a 21.1km run through the streets and finishing up on the East Pier.
The event is expected to attract close to 2,000 athletes from all over the world, and athletes will get to experience the hospitality, a variety of leisure activities and the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and Dublin Bay.
