Special Olympics Ireland are looking for local businesses to participate in their Annual Polar Plunge event in Sandycove! This year it will take place on Saturday 8th of December at 11am at Sandycove pier near the 40ft.
This year 91 fantastic Special Olympics athletes have qualified from the Ireland Games to compete at the World Games in Abu Dhabi to represent Team Ireland in March. Every day, over 8000 Special Olympics Athletes step up to the challenges they face to compete in a sport they love. Challenge yourself and your colleagues to take the plunge to support them!
Polar Plunge challenges have seen thousands of brave souls get Freezin’ for a Reason right across the globe, from New York and Belfast to Virginia and Dublin. So you’re part of something super special!
Individuals can register online and it costs €20. We then ask for a commitment to raise another €50, for a special souvenir on the day. Staff can also challenge their boss for our “Toss your Boss” Campaign. We are asking businesses to raise €100 and to nominate their boss to take the plunge! Please see our poster attached.
We encourage you to set up fundraising teams on Everyday hero so you can challenge each other to raise more funds. It will be a fun and festive event on the day, there will be Carol Singers and Santa for kids. Safety will be coordinated by members of the Garda Swimming and Life Saving Club.
Don’t forget the fancy dress, we love people getting into the festive spirit and there will be prizes for best fancy dress!
