Dun Laoghaire Drop Drone Delivery
The Irish Aviation Authority have authorised the first legitimate delivery of a package by Drone over the weekend of the 30th January.
The drone delivery took place on the Dun Laoghaire Coastline, and only took two minutes to complete – the drone left the shore, parcel in tow, and delivered the 250 gram package of to a boat at sea, 200 meters away.
Although, the company who arranged the delivery, Pony Express, have no plans to move their business to the skies any time soon, it does make you wonder what is possible in the very near future.
