Gourmet Food Parlour Celebrating 11 Years in Dún Laoghaire

Unit 3 Harbour Square, Crofton Road

Gourmet Food Parlour

Gourmet Food Parlour is celebrating 11 years of business in Dún Laoghiare. Founded by Lorraine Heskin & Lorraine Byrne, their first location was in the town, and they’ve expanded ever since opening their doors with Locations in Malahide & Swords. They also have partnerships with House on Leeson Street & 37 Dawson Street.

‘When I returned from New York, I lived in Dun Laoghaire and I saw a huge potential in the area, I loved the buzz of Dun Laoghaire and I really felt like there was a gap in the market for a restaurant like Gourmet Food Parlour. We will always have a soft spot for Dun Laoghaire and our customers there that have supported us from day one’

The Gourmet Food Parlour self-proclaim that they “serve a funky style of food, using simple locally sourced ingredients whilst serving it all in a fun relaxed way”.  They believe that the three most important ingredients in your dining experience are food, friends, and family; and welcome you to come in for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch and dinner.

Inside Gourmet Food Parlour

Heskin recently shared some of the challenges and rewards over past 11 years as she has grown her business. She also talks about how she balances between being a mum and being a boss.

One of the most rewarding aspects, Heskin says about her role now within the Gourmet Food Parlour (GFP) is, “Seeing our repeat customers coming to our restaurants and enjoying the food, staff & ambience… and hearing positive feedback from customers, piers & locals in the different communities.”

Apart from being an entrepreneur, Heskin is also a full-time mum.  She admits that it’s a challenge to navigate both avenues. But she says having a “strong team around me enables me to be a very hands on Mum… I feel like I have a great life balance between family & work, I feel like it comes naturally to me because I love both of those aspects of my life so much.”

Gourmet Food Parlour

Looking forward to the future Heskin says she’s excited about it all because the fast pace ensures that no day is the same at the GFP. If she had to list a few things she looking forward to in the future, Heskin says:
-Growing the GFP business
-Seeing what new opportunities come our way
-Further developing our food offering, setting trends & changing our menus constantly
-Focusing on growing our catering and events side of the business

Congratulations to the Gourmet Food Parlour on their 11 years in business. We are so happy they have made Dun Laoghaire their home. Check out the Gourmet Food Parlour for all brunch, dinner and catering services.
