Bespoke Gifts & Cards

Not many businesses can say that the concept came from a seven year old, but this just happens to be the case with Bespoke Gifts & Cards in Dún Laoghaire Shopping centre.
Ciara, then a seven year old, drew a card for her dad, owner Paul Burke, and asked him if she could sell it in his shop in Athenry. He said yes, and started stocking her unique drawings.  Naturally, Ciara, kept all the profits from her work.

Paul was inspired by her creativity and flair for business (at one point, when demand for her cards was particularly high, Ciara, recruited some of the kids in her class to draw their own and offered them a 70/30 split on the profits, now that she was in control of the supply chain), and the idea for Bespoke Gifts & Cards was born.

Tucked away on the top floor of Dún Laoghaire Shopping Centre, it’s certainly not the most travelled area in the town, but that doesn’t mean the Bespoke Gifts & Cards offering isn’t a unique one.

They sell sentimentality.

One off gifts created for that special someone for any occasion. Anything from customised engraved slate & wood, to stain glass and custom balloons to a combination of all of them. And Ireland’s largest selection of themed cards to boot!

These aren’t the kind of gifts that are thrown into a box and forgotten about at the bottom of a wardrobe, but are rather displayed proudly on the mantle piece, for everyone to see. And always with a story to tell.
