Foxrock-Cabinteely GAA Senior Ladies Football have been presented with an award in recognition of all their recent achievements at County Hall in Dún Laoghaire.
The list of their recent accolades is testament to the talent, dedication and hard work of players, coaches and staff at the club – All Ireland Senior Club runners-up, Leinster Senior Club Championship winners, Dublin Senior Club Championship winners 2016 (participating in four finals out of 5 years), Dublin Senior Cup winners 2016 (3 in a row – 2014 & 2015) and Dublin Senior league runners-up 2016.
Presenting the award An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Cormac Devlin said “It was a great privilege to recognise the success of the Foxrock-Cabinteely GAA Senior Ladies Football team during 2016. For one team to participate and win in so many different competitions is quite remarkable. Participation in women’s sports is on the increase, so I believe it is important that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council continues to support and highlight the success enjoyed by various women’s teams in all aspects of sport. These ladies are a shining example to other young women who wish to participate in women’s sport and their tremendous success throughout 2016 is an added bonus. I wish each individual player and their coaches continued success throughout 2017.”
