CALLING ALL GROUPS: PARTICIPATE IN THE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

 

The Dun Laoghaire St. Patrick’s Day Parade is inviting schools, dance groups, sports clubs, and more to participate in our 2025 parade. Let’s work together to make this event unforgettable!

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a major community celebration and to build on the success we had with the 2024 parade! We welcome participation from local, national, and international groups, so don’t hesitate to apply.

Capacity is limited so please note that completion of this form is your expression of interest in participating, while we will seek to include as many applicants as possible we can’t guarantee a place to everyone.

Parade Guidelines for participants

This application is intended for providing the Parade Selection Committee with the information necessary to choose the most appropriate units for the parade. We regret that since the parade length must be limited, not all applicants can be selected. Therefore, we hope that you will provide as complete a description as possible, so that we may have every opportunity to consider your unit’s merits.

  • Group leaders are responsible for ensuring health and safety of their groups, safe guarding of participants under the age of 18yrs as well as ensuring that children in their care are returned safely to their parents after the parade. Children must have adults walking with them at all times.
  • Group leaders to march at the front and ensure they keep with the timing of the parade.
  • The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dun Laoghaire is an inclusive community event and therefore no political statements/campaigning and/or slogans should be made by participant groups.
  • Every participant group should provide music whether live or via speakers to compliment their group.
  • No items to be thrown into the crowds at any time.
  • No smoking or drinking is permitted at the staging area or on the parade route at any time.
  • Every group should have their group name displayed clearly on a banner at the start of their unit.
  • Drivers of vehicles must ensure that all vehicles and floats can safely pass under any overhead power cables prior to the event.
  • If participants are riding on the floats, safety railings must be fitted to trucks and will be required to meet the satisfaction of the Event Safety Advisor.
  • All décor and items are to be securely fixed.
  • No objects should protrude in a way which could cause potential injury to persons in or around the vehicle.
  • Materials and fabrics should be fire-proofed and/or have the relevant fire certification.
  • Any truck or vehicle in the parade need to: Be in good working order and roadworthy; Have a vehicle excise license (taxed);Have tyres in good condition; Have working turning indicators and lights; Be fully insured and evidence of this and able to provide evidence.

Dun Laoghaire St. Patrick’s Day Parade is calling all bands to showcase their talents at our 2025 parade. Let’s make this parade unforgettable! 

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a big day in our community and repeat and exceed the success with had with the parade in 2024!

We’d love to have as many groups as possible so all local, but also national and international bands are welcome to apply.
